Rouge Access Points (2005/9/7)
According to google and other search engines, there appears to be increasing interest in rouge access point detection.
For example, a Cisco data sheet indicates that the location of unknown radios are shown (in a reddish-orange color):

The Aironet 350 access point "depends on LEAP enabled clients to report rouge access points", and the "Proxim ORiNOCO AP-700 delivers standard 802.11b/g/a, IEEE 802.11i, and rouge AP detection".
It could be simply a case of spellcheckers allowing rouge
in place of rogue
or a deliberate cross-language allusion to a 'red team' (aka tiger team)
security experts who role play an adversary's attempt to compromise security
through a new meaning of the rouge(fr) adjective, besides the traditional
